Gold Plating

Cheslan's gold-plated jewellery is created by electroplating durable stainless steel with rich 18k gold. While resilient, gold plating requires a bit of love to preserve its glow.

Jewellery Care Tips

Gold-plated jewellery, like all metals, will naturally fade, oxidise, or require expert maintenance over time. To get the most from your Cheslan pieces, we recommend the following:

  • Handle with care: Always ensure your hands are clean and dry before touching your jewellery.

  • Clean gently: Use a jewellery-specific cleaning solution, warm water, and a soft cloth (not microfiber or cotton) to gently rub — not buff — your pieces. Avoid harsh chemicals.

  • Skip the sprays: Keep your jewellery away from perfumes, lotions, cosmetics, and hair/body sprays.

  • Store smart: Place your pieces in a sealed pouch, jewellery box, or air-tight container. Keep them out of direct sunlight and away from heat or humidity.

  • Mind the gemstones: Handle gemstone pieces carefully — they can chip or become loose if dropped or stored improperly.

  • Sensitive skin? A thin coat of clear nail polish on the inside of the jewellery can help create a barrier and reduce irritation from mild allergic reactions.
